Write your own association (and speak out in other ways)
Healthcare professionals can play an important role in putting medical ethics into practice. There are several ways to support the campaign:
1. Sign and share the public petition
Sign the petition and encourage your colleagues to do the same. Send it directly to 5–10 colleagues, and share it through professional WhatsApp groups, mailing lists, unions and healthcare organisations.
2. Contact your national medical association
Find the medical association representing your country within the World Medical Association (WMA) and ask it to take a position.
You can:
- send a formal letter or email;
- request a meeting or an official response;
- ask the association to publicly address the issue;
- ask it to raise the issue within the WMA;
- follow up if you receive no response.

3. Bring the issue into the public debate
Write an opinion article for a national newspaper or other media outlet as a healthcare professional or organisation and share it with us. Contact journalists covering healthcare, human rights or international affairs. Organise a public meeting, webinar or panel discussion, or raise the issue at conferences, union meetings and professional gatherings.
4. Speak out publicly
Use LinkedIn, Instagram, X or other platforms to explain why this matters from the perspective of medical ethics. Share reliable documentation and testimonies, and encourage colleagues and professional organisations to take a public position.
Small actions become much more powerful when they are taken collectively.
